Mobs spawned from a spawner will automatically be stacked into one. Natural mobs that spawn individual can be stacked once they look at each other.
Use a name tag on either a stack or individual mob.
Fall damage will kill an entire stack. Any other method will kill up to 75 mobs in a stack.
